Your New Company

Based in Port Talbot, my client is a small, owner managed elderly and residential service for vulnerable adults with varying needs from dementia and complex needs, to learning disabilities. They have a strong view that their service should feel like a home and looking for a like-minded registered manager to join them.

Your new Role

To manage all aspects of the Home’s operation in order to deliver high quality care to residents in accordance with organizational standards and in compliance with all regulatory and statutory bodies. To ensure that all Company policies and procedures and all legal requirements are adhered.

• To ensure that quality audits are carried out monthly and that external audits are undertaken when requested.

• To review expenditure regularly against budget and ensure that all expenditure is kept within budget.

• Ensure that all sales enquiries are dealt with efficiently and that the majority of referrals are converted into admissions.

• Ensure that all operational and administrative procedures are adhered to at all times.

• Ensure that care plans are person center and meet the needs of the residents. Also ensuring that they are up to date so that all residents Care and social needs are met

• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with CIW, Social Services Departments and other external regulatory bodies. To ensure that care staff are appropriately inducted before being able to take responsibility for residents and to provide on the job training as required

• Facilitate regular residents’ Reviews in accordance with the home and Local Authority policies.

• Ensure sharing of support/PCP plan information amongst relevant staff.

• To adhere to and implement all HR policies and procedures

• Ensure that workloads are well organised by ensuring that the off duty is well planned in advance and that agency is only used in emergencies. ensure that there is sufficient staff cover .

• Report immediately to the CIW as required any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.

• Ensure medicine receipt, disposal and administration is handled and documented in line with policy

• You will be expected to take part in regular staff appraisals

What you will need

• QCF Level 4 or 5 in Health and Social Care Management (essential)
• 2 years Registered Manager experience (desirable)

• Maintain own personal development in relation to training and social care by reading relevant journals, attending meetings and relevant courses

• Build a professional working relationship with residents, colleagues and relevant professionals.

• Represent the home in a positive and professional manner.

• Ensure that the promotion of equality of opportunity and challenging discrimination are central to strategic development, management and its services to residents

• Contributing to the safeguarding Adults Policy taking steps to prevent residents from abuse

• To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.

• Being on call in emergencies and to cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted

• Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
