Hays Social Care are working with a 3 bedroom EBD home who provides residential care and support to young people, aged 8-17. These young people have been referred by local authorities, therefore can not remain in their family homes. The young people have a range of complex needs and have experienced trauma or neglect.

At the moment the home has two young people in placement with, no issues of missing or physical interventions, the home is quiet and both young people are doing well.

We are seeking a experienced registered manager on a permanent basis to take full management of this home as soon as possible.

• Showing an ambitious vision, having high expectations for what all children can achieve and ensure high standards of individualised care
• Having a clear understanding of the progress children and young people are making in respect of the plan for them and taking effective action when necessary
• Providing the right supportive environment for staff through effective supervision and appraisal and high-quality induction and training programmes that are tailored to the specific needs of the children and young people
• Knowing and understanding the home’s strengths and weaknesses, prevent shortfalls, identify weaknesses and take decisive and effective action
• Knowing whether the home is achieving its stated aims and objectives
• The quality of professional relationships to ensure the best possible all-round support to children and young people in all areas of their development
• Actively challenging when the responses from other services are not effective
• Promoting tolerance, equality and diversity
• Promoting and utilising children’s views and participation
• Working to organisational KPI’s and Registered Manager KPI’s
• Their own continual professional development.

What you’ll get in return

The salary will be between £38,000 to £43,000 which will be fully dependant on experience. Further to this there will be a payment of £1000 once successfully registered with Ofsted. There will also be an incentive payment of £3000 per year based on 75% occupancy in the home paid quarterly. The employer would also be willing to support the idea candidate with a Level 7 in strategic management and leadership course as part of continuing professional development after they have passed their 6 months probation. This home is apart of two sister homes in the local area, therefore you will be required to be on a on call rota system once every 3-4 weeks.
