Orkney Health and Care is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, positive, pro-active and motivated individual to join us as Registered Manager as we continue a journey of transformation. An essential attribute that we are looking for in our Registered Manager for Care at Home and Telecare/Mobile Responder services is someone who will care about and take pride in the ongoing success of our work with communities, families and individuals.
Care at Home and Telecare/ Community Mobile Responder provision are dynamic community services, operating across mainland Orkney and the Isles, supporting individuals within their own home to maintain their personal independence and meets their outcomes and goals. As Registered Manager you will demonstrate clear leadership and ensure that the services are delivered effectively and efficiently and that in doing so an ethos of reablement is promoted.
As the Registered Manager you will have responsibility for leading and managing an experienced team in the day-to-day operational delivery of service provision to ensure continuous high-quality care and support in line with the Health and Social Care Standards. Therefore, a minimum of 3 years previous experience, with a proven track record, of working at a supervisory/managerial level within a Social Care setting – e.g. care at home, residential care, or similar – is essential for this role. An ability to work at pace to manage a diverse workload and an ability to work under pressure are also essential for the Registered Manager role. As a confident and effective leader, you will cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, service users and other stakeholders.
Other essential requirements of the Registered Manager’s role is being able to demonstrate:
• a passion and drive to deliver on continuous service improvement and have responsibility for quality assurance and performance management making sure that support provided by staff is consistent and in line with regulatory requirements;
• assurance that professional practice and codes of conduct are adhered to;
• experience of managing budgets;
• experience of assessment, care planning and reviewing care packages;

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
