Job Title: Referral & Assessment Officer
Place of Work: Refuges and Office Locations
Hours of Work: 15 – hours per week
Reports to: Senior Social Worker
Salary £23,023 – £24,920 per annum (pro rata for part-time staff)
Job purpose:
(i) the allocation of accommodation to women and children within WAiL. (ii) the suitability of referrals for WAiL for Groups and Outreach Services. (iii) To monitor occupancy levels and ensuring that spaces in accommodation are filled appropriately.
Overall Responsibilities They will maintain high standards of professionalism; keeping abreast of current legislation, standards, best practice and maintain a focus on continuous improvement. Specifically, the post holder will be responsible for the following: –
SUPPORT WORK
1.1 Responding to telephone and in person approaches from Individuals, Partner Agencies, Services and Organisations who contact WAiL.
1.2 To respond to calls on Helpline, ensuring all appropriate information to enable an assessment of needs and risks to be done is collected.
1.3 Referring on to appropriate support within the Organisation and/or signposting to other Organisations and Partner Agencies.
1.4 To ensure all information is accurately recorded and maintained, using our case management system (Oasis) and other methods as necessary, ensuring that all information is securely stored in line with WAiL policies.
1.5 To ensure the Operational Team and the Housekeeping have a clear understanding across the organisation of which units are available, those which are out of commission and those waiting to be turned over.
1.6 To ensure that the Helpline Inbox is monitored throughout the day and all incoming mail is prioritised according to content, to ensure prompt replies to messages from individuals who contact us.
1.7 To ensure Routes to Support is kept updated and spaces are advertised in relevant places.
