This post will lead a small team, in conjunction with other Housing Asset Management departments, with all issues relating to damp, condensation and mould with Aberdeenshire Council properties.
You will be tasked with analysing data received from visiting officers and advising the best course of action to safeguard our tenant’s health and belongings, as well as our building.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with damp, condensation and mould issues. Further to this, the preferred candidate will need to have experience from a repairs/property management background in order to raise works that follow Aberdeenshire Council’s damp, condensation and mould guidelines to protect both tenants and building.
You will be tasked with training any new members of staff on damp, condensation and mould, how to spot them and what information needs to be presented to tenants to ensure these issues are managed and eradicated in the long-term.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating a system of records in line with Aberdeenshire Council policies and with this system of data recording, you will be able to present your findings to Housing Managers and Councillors as and when required.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
