The Project Manager (Housing IT System) will be responsible for the replacement Housing IT system. The post holder will work primarily within the Place Directorate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
The main responsibility of the job is to ensure that a replacement Housing IT system is implemented that meets the business need, priorities and expected outcomes through successful delivery of the project.
The Project Manager will be located within the Place Directorate reporting to the Team Leader Housing Business Management and working closely with the Senior Manager in Housing.
This role will work across council portfolios – mainly being the key contact between Place Directorate, ICT Services, Senior Managers, Senior Officers, Analysts and strategic partners to ensure collaboration and timely project delivery.
The post holder will predominantly manage overall project monitoring and delivery. Additionally, the Project Manager may be requested to support other related transformation work, on a fixed term/ task specific basis, at the request of the Strategic Director (Place).
Reporting to the Team Leader Housing Business Management the Project Manager (Housing IT System) will work collaboratively across service delivery portfolios to ensure a coordinated approach is taken to the delivery of the project. At programme level, the Project Manager (Housing IT system) will maintain up to date monitoring of delivery against the key project milestones and feed this into PLACE SMT, Digital Programme Board and any other relevant strategic groups.
A key part of this role is ensuring that the project is delivered to a consistent standard using agreed templates and processes, and adhering to prescribed governance, scrutiny, and change control processes. The post holder will also empower and upskill Housing and Property staff to do the same.
The post will involve retaining oversight of the complex project. The post holder may also be involved in some smaller individual projects to progress work. This will require a flexible approach and excellent time and task management skills. The post holder will promote robust and effective project management approaches to facilitate effective scrutiny and oversight of progress, and to highlight where additional governance or corrective action is needed to ensure priority projects remain on track.
