We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and patient Personal Assistant to support an individual living with personality disorders and complex emotional needs. This is a deeply rewarding role focused on building a trusting, consistent relationship with the service user, helping them to navigate daily life while maintaining their independence and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one support, both emotional and practical, in a trauma-informed and person-centred manner
*
Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and attending appointments
*
Support the service user in managing routines and developing coping strategies
*
Promote self-care, independence, and positive social interaction
*
Accompany the service user to social and community activities, as appropriate
*
Be a consistent and calming presence, especially during times of distress or emotional dysregulation
*
Work collaboratively with mental health professionals and support networks where required
*
Maintain clear and confidential records of daily activities, incidents, and progress
*
Adhere to safeguarding protocols and health & safety regulations
Person Specification:
Essential:
*
Genuine empathy, patience, and non-judgmental attitude
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*
Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions, particularly personality disorders
*
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to crisis situations appropriately
*
Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach
*
Understanding of confidentiality, boundaries, and safeguarding
*
Must be flexible as this is a mix of days and nights, weekdays and weekends
Desirable:
*
Knowledge of DID, trauma-informed practice, or mental health first aid
*
Previous experience working in a care or support setting
*
Driver’s license and access to a vehicle (if transport is required)

This role may involve lone working and requires emotional resilience
