Ability to attend 8 week peer 2 peer course.
To provide peer support (lived experience of mental health challenges) on an individual basis.
To work alongside members of the Mental Health Officer team and under the direction of professionally qualified workers.
To provide peer support during working hours, evenings and weekends as required.
You will have lived experience of Mental Health challenges and the ability to share personal stories of recovery in a professional manner.
You will have good communication skills, both verbal and written and basic IT skills. You will have good planning and organisational skills.
You will understand issues affecting the relevant service group and have a commitment to maintaining a high standard of support.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
