An exciting opportunity has arisen within Falkirk Councils Housing Needs Service for a Outreach Housing Needs Assessment Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team offering advice, support, and assistance for those who are in housing need or threatened with homeless.

You will focus on providing effective customer focused assessment and housing options service to prisoners and clients of the Housing Needs Service. The key role will be to carry out interviews and complete assessments for customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and also to provide effective housing options advice in regard to housing. You will assess peoples’ housing and support needs to ensure that appropriate support is identified, whilst implementing the Council legal duties to provide homeless services.

You will be able to work as part a team, prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines and should have knowledge of Housing and Homelessness legislation. You will also deliver a Service in line with SHORE (Sustainable Housing On Release For Everyone). Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a sympathetic manner when dealing with customers.   

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
