Job Description

As part of on-going work at a national and local level to tackle domestic abuse, ASSIST is being extended to cover Dumfries & Galloway local authority area. ASSIST is an accredited Independent Domestic Abuse Advocacy service that works in close partnership with Police Scotland, COPFS and other partners to support the delivery of a pro-active response for those affected by domestic abuse and who are interacting with the criminal justice system.  ASSIST works closely with statutory and voluntary services to deliver a pro-active, rapid and stream-lined response for those affected by domestic abuse. 
ASSIST is now seeking to recruit an Operations Manager to be part of the ASSIST team. The successful candidate will have experience of managing staff and working with partner agencies at a strategic level to develop and maintain a co-ordinated, multi-agency responses to survivors referred to ASSIST. Contribute to the development and implementation of multi-agency procedures and protocols aimed at ensuring effective co-ordination of service provision
Essential to the post is a sound understanding of the issues surrounding domestic abuse, a commitment to partnership working and an understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on children, families, and communities.  ASSIST uses risk assessment and safety planning processes to ensure the client is at the centre of interventions. This post is based in the main office, Eastgate, Glasgow with attendance at meetings and staff groups across the West of Scotland.  We are currently piloting a hybrid approach for this role working between home and the office. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

This post also requires a  Police Scotland Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 2.

This post is fixed term for a period up to 31/03/2025.
