West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership (WDHSCP) is working with its partners to implement its current strategic plan, “Improving Lives Together”, which outlines its vision for the delivery of integrated health and social care services. This includes a clear commitment to prioritising continuous quality improvement of services for the benefit of the local communities. WDHSCP is currently working towards its key strategic outcomes to ensure communities are “Caring, Safe and Thriving, Equal and Healthy”.
We have an exciting opportunity within WDHSCP Learning Disability Services for a two year fixed term post, Operational Manager – Services. This post forms part of the Community Living Change Fund (CLCF) initiative to deliver recommendations outlined in the “Coming Home Implementation Report” published in February 2022.
The Operational Manager – Services is responsible for delivering agreed national and local performance targets within West Dunbartonshire, with a flexible approach and a proactive, professional and open manner with the ability to supervise, motivate, engage and inspire teams. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of high quality services. This is a key operational and strategic management role forming part of the Extended Senior Management Team within Mental Health, Learning Disability and Addictions. Reporting to the Service Manager – Learning Disability this post will form a key role in the review of Learning Disability Services. An understanding of workforce planning is essential as the size of the Learning Disability workforce is considerable, and diverse, incorporating a wide range of professionals and support staff. This post will work across multiple locations with responsibility for a number of services both registered and non-registered.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
