An exciting opportunity has arisen within our community Occupational Therapist team in adult services Renfrewshire.

Occupational Therapists provide assessment, therapeutic intervention, advice, guidance and practical support to people and carers within the community.

Occupational Therapists work in partnership with social workers, health and care at home teams providing a care management role, equipment, adaptations, and adhere to legislation including Manual Handling operations 1992 amended 2002, Adult Support and Protection Act 2007 and Self Directed Support Act 2013, standards and procedures and ensure effective use of resources.

All Occupational Therapists operate under the Council’s WORKSMART arrangements which promote mobile and flexible work practices, therefore be expected to travel throughout Renfrewshire.

You will work within Johnstone Town Hall and Renfrew Health and Social Care building.

It is essential that you have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with The Health and Care Professions Council; and newly qualified Occupational Therapists are welcome to apply.

It is essential you have proven assessment skills, effective IT, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; be motivated; flexible in your approach, with a commitment to social work values and Occupational Therapy standards and code of ethics. The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with partner agencies.

You will be expected to record and monitor work using eclipse therefore experience of using electronic case record systems is desirable.

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.

A driving licence is desirable.
