An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our community occupational therapy team. You will contribute to the delivery of assessment, and rehabilitation including provision of equipment and adaptations to enable people to live as independently as possible at home. You will join our expanding, forward thinking, dynamic and integrated team based in East Lothian based at Musselburgh Primary Care Centre.
Our Occupational Therapy service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people living in the community affected by their condition or impairment in achieving their chosen goals and outcomes. We will work with clients to help support them in achieving their goals and this may be in a variety of ways including, rehabilitation, use of equipment and/or provision of adaptations.
You will be an integral part of the Occupational Therapy team, and will work closely with all parts of the wider team which includes, physiotherapy, technology enabled care, telecare and social work. The integrated team are based in the same office within the community hospital and allows for excellent joint working opportunities.
You will be responsible for holding a varied caseload from short and long term conditions. Casework will be supported and supervised by a highly experienced occupational therapist and/or a senior practitioner within the service.
We have excellent internal and external training opportunities which we actively encourage staff to participate in. We also carry out regular Performance, review and development plans (PRDs) to ensure your training needs are identified and worked towards.
We provide regular clinical and professional supervision to support staff with clinical work and identify ongoing training opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is interested in contributing to the essential provision of occupational therapy services to enable people to live more independent and full lives. We would encourage applicants with assessment and rehabilitation skills, knowledge of equipment and adaptations would be advantageous but not essential as training can and will be provided.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Dip/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council.
Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
