Night Social Care Assistant

37 hours per week
Permanent
£33,612 – £34,407 / £17.43 – £17.84 per hour (pay award pending December 2023) (including shift allowance and Distant Island Allowance)

We are seeking to recruit candidates who are highly motivated towards providing high quality services to older people in our extra care facility. You will be required to undertake tasks as delegated by senior staff, but also need to be able to use your own initiative at times. The post requires adherence to Care Standards and Codes of Practice as well as a positive attitude towards optimum fulfilment of older people’s lives.

Previous experience in social care is highly desirable.

Applicants should hold an SVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or other relevant qualification to enable registration with SSSC as a Support Worker in a Housing Support Service with Care at Home for Adults. Where the essential qualification is not held, applicants should be able to achieve this within 5 years of appointment. The successful applicants must also be registered with SSSC within six months of taking up the post.

These posts are subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
