At Kedleston Group, our vision is simple, every provision we operate will be recognised as ‘outstanding’ in every way.

About the role:
As a Night Care Worker at our Children’s home, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will remain awake throughout the night whilst supervising the home and ensuring the safety of our young people. About you:
Ideally, for this role, we are looking for someone who has experience of working within a children’s home setting, is passionate about supporting young people and holds, or is working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. If you don’t have the experience or qualifications yet, but share our commitment to developing confident and capable young people and making a difference to their lives by meeting their educational, health and social care needs in structured, nurturing school and home provisions, we would love to hear from you.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Supervision
(a) Remaining awake at all times while on duty and supervising the home.
(b) Investigating and reporting, as necessary, to senior staff if an intruder alarm sounds.
(c) Ensuring that all children are present on a regular cycle and reporting to senior staff any missing children.
(d) Checking the security of the building and alerting senior staff of any security breaches.
Reporting
(a) Keeping a detailed nightly Log and providing this report to senior staff before going off duty.
(b) Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and reviews relating to individual children or groups of children.
General Care and Support
(a) Assisting the day care staff in helping the children to settle at bedtime
(b) Assisting the day staff to get the children up in the morning and ready
(c) Assisting any child who is complaining of being unwell, or who is upset, and alerting the Sleep In member of staff as necessary.
(d) Establishing appropriate professional relationships with the children.
(e) Displaying levels of personal behaviour which will provide an appropriate model for the children.
(f) Participating in the safeguarding of all the children and ensuring that the homes Child Protection Policy is adhered to
(g) Ensuring the health and safety of the children by adhering to the homes ‘Health and Safety Policy’.
