Location: Various Locations across Aberdeen
Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Job Purpose:
Provide Moving and Handling assessments for service users applying safe practice as
stipulated by legislation and in accordance with Bon Accord Care’s policies, procedures and standards/values.
Act as a source of competent advice, education and guidance in relation to moving and
handling for informal carers and BAC staff.
Recommend/prescribe designated moving and handling equipment and other equipment as appropriate, complete risk assessments, handling plans and records to a high standard in support of recommendations
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
SVQ 3 Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7/other relevant qualification
Membership of Back Exchange Moving and Handling (or be willing to undertake)
CENTAUR Instructor or equivalent for moving and handling (or be willing to
undertake the relevant training)
PDA in supervision or willingness to work towards if the role required
Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme Record (PVG) or willing to become a
scheme member
A full current UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

The ability to assess, plan and review and maintain and develop clear and accurate
records including risk assessments and support plans
The ability to communicate effectively and work in partnership with service users,
staff, carers, families and internal/external professionals to achieve improved
outcomes for service users
An ability to work as part of a team, providing guidance and support to team
members
The ability to work autonomously and be accountable, while at the same time
recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior manager
The ability to work accurately with detailed information
The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
A flexible and creative approach in order to manage resources effectively
The ability to effectively use a range of IT packages including the use of Microsoft
Office
The ability to challenge and improve practice
