1 x 18.5 hours per week Short Breaks and Supported Living Network
Temporary for up to 12 months
£27,369 – £27,603 pro rata / £14.19 – £14.31 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

An opportunity has arisen for motivated young people to undertake a modern apprenticeship in Health and Social Care gaining experience in various locations and services within Orkney Health and Care.

These vacancies are restricted to young people who are aged between 16 and 29 (this means up until the day before their 29th birthday) and who currently live in Orkney.

This is an exciting opportunity which will offer a structured and supported development in different care/support settings, as well as offering funded attendance at Orkney College to undertake a formal SVQ 2 qualification.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate the essential requirements that they have a caring nature, a willingness to work flexibly, have an ability to use own initiative, and are keen to learn and develop as they have a genuine interest in a career in health and social care.

You should have a good standard of general education including literacey and numeracy equivalent to SCQF level 4.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
