Aberdeenshire Council is committed to increasing the opportunities in the local area by providing Modern Apprenticeships (MA’s). These allow you to gain skills, experience and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification.
Successful candidates will be placed on an approved programme of training through the Aberdeenshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for SVQ Level 2. In order to qualify for the appropriate funding from Skills Development Scotland this MA programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. If you have a disability or are a care leaver then you are also eligible to apply up to the age of 29. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 4 or 5 or Standard Grade in Mathematics and English, or equivalent transferable experience and Skills is essential.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 6 months of employment.
This post has a minimum requirement of 2 references. One of these must be your current or most recent employer.
Aberdeenshire Council currently applies a Living Wage Supplement to all Council employees earning less than £10.85 per hour.
Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 12 Months.
Work pattern – 5 days per week on a 3 week rolling rota. Mixture of early (07.30-15.00) and late (14.30-22.00) shifts
