West Dunbartonshire HSCP are currently looking for supply staff to work as mobile attendant’s within Care at Home services. Working throughout West Dunbartonshire, the mobile attendant provides emergency home care assistance to tenants within their own homes, as well as responding to routine calls and assisting with the installation of community alarm systems. Supply staff will support the current team by providing cover when required. Mobile attendants work a shift patter that includes weekends. The mobile attendants are required to work both individually and as part of a team. You will require some technical knowledge and must also be comfortable with providing practical / personal care.
It is essential that you hold, or have the capacity to achieve, a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care or an equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 5 or above; have knowledge of the technology used in relation to care services and be willing to undertake training in order to competently install and programme this equipment; have effective communication skills (both verbally and in writing); have a positive, professional attitude, a responsible approach to sensitive information and the ability to perform positive relationships with service users, follow processes and instructions and work as part of a team.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
