Administrator, Minutes, Social Care, Children
Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time temporary Administrative Assistant to support the Children’s Social Care team.
This is a home-based role working on a rota system, so you will only be required to work in the office for one day a week.
In your first 2 weeks, you will be required to be fully onsite.
You will need to take accurate minutes at meetings, have a professional phone manner and the ability to listen to callers and extract relevant information.
Additional responsibilities include drafting and sending letters, ensuring accurate, relevant and compliant information is on the council’s Liquid Logic system.
You will also be expected to process invoices and travel requests, arrange duty rotas and send paperwork for children & YP placed in care.
This role is based within the Children’s Social Care Services, therefore you will have access to confidential and sometimes distressing information.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must have minuting and administrative experience.
Previous experience within a local authority would be beneficial, along with financial experience. You must also possess a flexible attitude, be able to prioritise tasks and re-arrange priorities during the day.
You must be able to communicate to peers and social workers and ensure that the team is informed of any changes as soon as possible.
The ability to use a wide range of computer systems is also essential.
