Mental Capacity Act Manager – Full Time – North London

Your new role
As the Mental Capacity Act Manager, you will be making operational and strategic decisions on behalf of the local authority’s’ supervisory/responsible body and senior management team in relation to the DoLS/LPS service. It will also be your responsibility to respond to changes in legal frameworks ensuring the council and local health and social care partners/service providers/managing authorities are appropriately safeguarding the rights of service users including people who live in accommodation other than hospitals and care homes. Managing the DoLS/LPS budgets within designated limits for the commissioning of best interest/ and mental health assessors and other DoLS/LPS associated costs.
You will need to provide, as required, statutory statistical information to the Department of Health and other relevant organisations.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this role, you will need;
– Professional Qualification in Social Work or Occupational Therapy.
– Best Interest Assessor (BIA) or Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP).
– Detailed knowledge and understanding of legislative and contextual framework affecting the work of the team(s) acquired through experience in relevant/specific field.
