Social Worker, MASH, Permanent
Southend Council are looking to appoint a permanent full time Social Worker to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH+) Team.
Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available, however a flexible approach is needed as you will be required to be on site and to travel around the city.
*This position attracts the added incentive of a one-off payment of £7,500, after you have been employed in this post for 3 years and 1 day
You will be working with vulnerable service users in the borough and will be expected to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals from other agencies including Police, Health, National Probation Services, Emotional Wellbeing, Mental Health Services, voluntary organisation and Social Workers including Senior Managers to ensure a seamless quality service.
The role will also involve dealing with contacts, meetings and responding to families that are in crisis.
You will required to work to policy and procedures of Southend Children’s Services, and have involvement in extremely high risk decision making and exercise of a high level of judgement and personal responsibility for the safety of children.
*Subject to the candidate continuing in the position covered by the scheme.
What you’ll need to succeed
This position requires that the post holder has a recognised professional Social Work qualification (e.g. DipSW / degree in Social work) and be registered with Social Work England.
You must have extensive post qualifying experience, including statutory work with children & families, preferably including some experience of targeted and specialist. The post holder must be registered to practice as a Social Worker.
The post holder must be able to demonstrate:
Post holder must have a detailed knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and related regulations and guidance. Post holder must have ability to communicate clearly and directly both verbally and in writing. In addition, the post holder must have the ability to make accurate and timely case recording.
