Job Purpose: We are seeking to appoint an Independent Chair to provide leadership and vision to the Highlands and Islands Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) Strategic Oversight Group, in accordance with National Guidelines to ensure the discharge of the SOG public protection function under the eserved=0″> Management of Offenders etc. (Scotland) Act 2005
This is a unique opportunity to work with Shetland Council, Orkney Council, Comhairle nan Siar, Highland Council, NHS Highland, NHS Shetland, NHS Orkney, NHS Western Isles, Police Scotland, Scottish Prison Service and relevant voluntary sector organisations
We are looking for an inclusive leader with passion, who is committed to partnership working to elevate Public Protection across the Highlands and Islands. Substantial experience of working at an executive / strategic level in one of the core disciplines represented on the MAPPA SOG is required and they will be responsible to the Highland Chief Officers Group.
We are keen to support applications from experienced strategic leaders who understand the MAPPA Public Protection landscape. MAPPA SOG Meetings are held virtually given the expansive geography of the Highlands and Islands and applications from across the regions are welcomed. There will be opportunities for partners and stakeholders to come together for in-person events and these will be carefully planned and negotiated recognising the logistics of the area.
This is a 12 month contract with a time commitment of 3-4 days per month. A further 2 year extension may be negotiated. Remuneration is £350 per day (pro rata for part days)
