Based in Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, temporary until 30 September 2023.

You will have three National 4 qualification passes (any subject) or equivalent.
You will provide and signpost information, advice and support to people living with and beyond cancer, including their families and carers.
You will carry out a holistic assessment of needs, identify appropriate interventions and referrals with the individual and shape a plan of action, which is monitored and reviewed to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved.
You will work closely with the Council Departments and external agencies, ensuring appropriate referrals are made to support individuals and their goals.
You will enable self-directed support and encourage self-management.
You will have experience of delivering a customer focused service, proven experience of face to face work with clients, the ability to use IT in the provision and recording of advice, ie basic word processing, data input and knowledge of spreadsheets. You will also have experience of dealing with statutory agencies and working with the voluntary sector.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively, motivate, support, advocate and counsel, be able to take responsibility for your own workload, plan and complete tasks without supervision, prioritise and manage your time effectively. The ability to build strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, empathy with individual and family psychosocial circumstances and a commitment to personal and professional development are also essential.
You will be able to working evenings and weekends, if required.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
