An exciting position has arisen for a full time Lifelong Learning Parenting Coordinator who will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Lifelong Learning Service.

You will have experience of working with Families/Parents or within Family Learning to co-ordinate and lead the development and delivery of Lifelong Learning and partner parenting programmes within the guidance of The Promise Plan 21-24 and the accompanying Change programmes.

You will have knowledge of parenting and family approaches in line with national, local frameworks. Specific co-ordination of the Incredible Years programme and key Whole Family Support initiatives.

You will be passionate about Lifelong Learning and have experience of delivering learning, developing learning plans, working in partnership with schools and other organisations as well as self-evaluation activities.

You will ideally have knowledge and experience of overseeing opportunities for learning to be accredited, coordinating relevant administration tasks, and fulfilling role of Assessor and Verifier as required across a range courses.

To be considered for this post you should:

• be educated to SCQF Level 9 Degree in a relevant subject or demonstrate equivalent experience.
• demonstrate evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
• possess education and training which enables the delivery of accredited and non & accredited lifelong learning opportunities.
• be a full or associate membership of CLD Standards Council or willing to become a member.
• be a qualified Assessor and/or Verifier or willing to complete necessary training.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

This post is fixed term for up to 2 years.
