Experienced learning support worker / care worker needed in Wrexham area – supporting students with autism/LD
Your new company
Hays are working with an established company that provides support nationally to children and adults with various needs. The site I am working with is based in Wrexham and they are looking for a 2 x experienced staff on a temporary basis to work supporting students in a college setting. Some of the students may be enrolled into a mainstream college whilst other will be supported in a special school setting. The placement will be on going possibly until June 2021.
Your new role
You will be supporting students up to the age of 25 with LD, autism and Asperger’s syndrome. The main duties will be to support them in lessons (whether this is mainstream lessons, or in life skills lessons). You will meet the student at the start of the day and help them to understand the content of the course, help them to concentrate and help them to deal with the social situations around them.
What you’ll need to succeed
You must have 6 months experience in a care related setting, supporting people with various needs. You will ideally drive as sometimes you may be required to go to different college settings around the Wrexham/Northop area. You will need to be available from 8.30am until 4.30pm Monday – Friday.
