This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of new parenting support activities within Renfrewshire communities. You will oversee the implementation of a new peer-led parenting training programme and support the Council and its planning partners to help local families to give their children the best possible start in life.
Working within ‘The Bridge’ mental health and wellbeing community hub, you will co-ordinate the development of new service approaches to supporting parents in Renfrewshire. In collaboration with our children’s services planning partners, you will be responsible for developing a new parenting strategy for Renfrewshire which will inform the design and delivery of new parenting support activities. A key part of the role will be the development and implementation of the Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) programme in Renfrewshire. Under the direction of the multi-agency steering group and guided by the programme developers at the Michael Rutter Centre at the Maudsley Hospital, you will develop an implementation plan for EPEC in Renfrewshire and lead on the key tasks.
Once the programme commences, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the programme including ongoing recruitment, maintaining model fidelity, managing the budget and developing a sustainability plan.
It is essential that you are motivated and educated to degree level in a relevant field and have a passion for helping people to improve their lives. It is essential that you have a background in working with children and families and an ability to engage positively with people from a range of backgrounds within social work or related field. It is also essential that you have experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with statutory and third sector organisations.
It is desirable that you that you have a post graduate qualification in counselling, groupwork or working with children and/or families as well as experience in consultation with children and adults.
