The Covid19 pandemic has significantly impacted on our local economy with rising unemployment, Aberdeenshire Council aims to boost the local economy and tackle unemployment progressing unemployed & underemployed residents into employment, training or education. To implement this plan we need a dedicated individual to work with clients and our local employers.
You will be a highly motivated person, seeking a challenging role within a busy employability environment. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for engaging with unemployed and underemployed people, providing tailored and bespoke support, and enabling access to opportunities for individuals seeking support to secure employment. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team making a difference and delivering results.
You will focus on engaging with people, developing action plans, providing intensive keyworker support, which will enable unemployed people to progress into sustainable employment.
You should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a similar role delivering employability interventions and dedicated support to people to improve their employability skills and seek to secure employment and having experience of developing and delivering employability support and training to groups of unemployed individuals, helping them to develop the necessary attributes, skills and experience to progress to sustainable employment.
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous, as well as, experience of moving clients forward through the stages of the employability pipeline.
A sound knowledge of the local labour market and experience of taking individuals/groups forward in this area would be desirable.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
The post is home based but is to cover the Kincardine & Mearns area of Aberdeenshire Fixed Term 31/03/2023.
