Information and Advice Officer – fixed term until 30/06/2021
Salary: £22,129 – £26,393
Hours: 36 per week
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced advice worker to join The Advice Shop, City of Edinburgh Council’s specialist welfare rights and debt advice service.
The postholder will provide welfare rights advice to customers from all walks of life, especially to those with significant health issues and those affected by cancer. With excellent customer service skills and the knowledge to ensure that people are accessing their rights and entitlements from the DWP, HMRC, local authority and other sources of support, the candidate will be well organised and self-motivated.
The post involves regular customer contact and the ability to undertake detailed and dynamic assessments of household circumstances. The postholder is expected to liaise with a wide-range of other professionals and have excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
The postholder requires a Basic Disclosure check.
This is a temporary post until 30th June 2021 in a long-standing project funded by Macmillan Cancer Support and City of Edinburgh Council.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
