An exciting opportunity has arisen within Housing with Care to recruit to our Housing Support Worker role.

The post holders will work as part of a team of staff to deliver care and support for tenants in line with their care plan with reference to the Health and Care Standards.

The post holders will assist in the management of the Housing with Care and community developments in West Lothian to ensure that tenants are provided with the means to maintain independent tenancies by ensuring a warm, friendly and safe environment. The post holders will directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical assistance, direct personal and emotional care. 

Qualification required- SVQ2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent

SSSC registration required within 6 months of start date.

This post is based at Brucefield House in Whitburn, the post holder will be required to work at its twinned building Norvell Lodge, Boghall and any other HWC building in West Lothian where there are staff shortages. The hours for this post are 22.5 per week and sleepover duties.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.  If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
