Based in the Housing Options Service at East District Office, 169 Pitkerro Road, Dundee, you will work, full time, 37 hours per week temporary for 2 years.
You will have CIH Level 3 or relevant Housing experience.
You will be responsible for promoting and delivering services to persons who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. Services will focus on the prevention of homelessness and will include front line housing options advice, advocacy and referral services. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all homeless applications are comprehensively assessed in line with legislation, guidance and within performance timescales. You will carry a housing options case load and will take a lead role in liaising with a range of agencies to ensure that support, advice and practical assistance is provided to service users to enable them to prevent or resolve homelessness and maintain their accommodation.
You will have relevant housing or other front line public service experience as well as experience in interviewing and working with a challenging client group.
You will have good communication skills both written and verbal; the ability to manage a caseload with minimum supervision; and be IT literate.
You will be self motivated; customer focussed, able to work under pressure, pragmatic; organised; flexible/ adaptable; and team orientated.
A satisfactory response from Disclosure Scotland is required.
