Working in Housing Strategy & Development you will be part of a team responsible for managing and supporting projects committed to developing and improving services.
Edinburgh is at the forefront of innovation in affordable housing provision, working closely with developers, housing providers, construction firms and investors to deliver much needed affordable housing across the city.
We need enthusiastic people who can assist the delivery of new projects and strategies to increase affordable housing, to address homelessness, and make living in the city more affordable to all. The post will give you the opportunity to develop relationships with Government, partners, and stakeholders.
The post holders should be enthusiastic and able to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to challenges. You should have experience of assisting the delivery of successful projects through partnership working, able to deal with changing demands, and identify opportunities for service improvement.
The team has a vast and diverse remit, ranging from the administration and management of the Scottish Government grant funded programme for new-build affordable homes, developing and delivering the HRA Business Plan, through to the development of new services designed to improve quality of life and reduce living costs for tenants.
Key projects include the Affordable Housing Supply Programme, Affordable Housing Policy and contributing strategically to Council priorities in tackling homelessness.
Please note this is not a front-line Housing Officer role.
