Housing Assistants are vital in ensuring an effective Housing service is maintained. In order to ensure continuity across the service we are looking to recruit a pool of Housing Assistants to be placed in vacancies as they arise.
When you apply through this advert you will be asked to select your preferred location, hours i.e. full time or part time and if a permanent or temporary post suits you.
Once the advert closes candidates will be shortlisted and invited along for an interview, the successful candidates will create our Housing Assistant pool. We will keep your details on file for 6 months and if your criteria matches any of the vacancies that arise, we will contact you to offer a position.
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer care and communication skills. The role of Housing Assistant undertakes a wide range of clerical duties including word processing, filing and photocopying and has the added advantage of working within a busy locality housing office, supporting Housing Officers and providing advice to tenants and customers, making a direct impact to the local community and our service users.
You will be required to demonstrate the ability to organise and prioritise your workload, respond to changing priorities and contribute effectively to team goals and projects, as well as demonstrating the necessary skills to use all relevant IT systems and software applications, in particular having a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Due to the post being in a front line service, the successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to the principals of customer care along with effective communication and interpersonal skills. Due to the nature of the post, it requires a high level of confidentiality.
