Are you considering a career change, working in care already, interested in assessing for and using technology to help people stay at home? Do you like meeting people and working with them to come up with creative technology-based solutions to support independence at home?
Our Support at Home team in West Lothian are currently recruiting Support workers for our Home Safety/Technology Enabled Care Team, who work in the community across West Lothian.
The Home Safety Service/Tec Team assess for a range of telecare equipment to support people in their homes, whether that is in the short term, as part of an assessment process, or for the longer term where technology is used in isolation or to supplement and support care needs. Some examples of longer-term pieces of technology are lifelines, pendants, smoke detectors, fall detectors, movement sensors.
The team also respond to requests to install technology, for a fixed period of time as part of the assessment process to provide an evidence base on which to develop appropriate care packages for the longer term.
As part of our team, you will have a guaranteed hours contract, be paid a shift allowance in addition to your basic salary and at work, have the use of a laptop and a phone. You will take part in our extensive training programmes and develop your skills as you learn.
You will need to enjoy working with people, have empathy, and like a working environment which is fast paced with no two days the same. You will also need to want to be part of a team who are committed to providing a high standard of service in people’s homes across West Lothian, be a driver, possess good IT and digital skills and be willing to work a shift pattern
