Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership delivers high quality home care services to people of all ages and with different care needs and based throughout various locations in Renfrewshire. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, motivated and flexible people to join care at home services including home support and reablement.
Renfrewshire Care at Home service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Core business is between 7.00am and 10.00pm, The rota pattern in operation is 25 hours per week 4 on/4 off and you would be required to work a combination of early shift and back shift.
Duties include assisting service users with all aspects of personal care including help with washing, dressing, toileting, medication, etc; help with preparing breakfast and other meals when necessary and assist service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.
You will require to undertake all relevant training for the post. In addition, temporary or permanent Home Care Workers are required to attain a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care. It is essential that you have experience of working in a care setting and delivering personal care or in an informal/personal capacity; have an awareness of a range of long term conditions and have an understanding of the needs of people who require help from care services; be able to demonstrate within your application form that you are reliable and flexible with the ability to work as part of a team. You will also be required to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and this would include monitoring and reporting changes in the identified needs of service users including the handling of sensitive information.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
