Head of Service Job – Full Time Permanent Role – Busy Local Authority

An exciting new opportunity has risen in North London for a large local authority. This role is on a perm basis and will be sat within the Early Help Services. The overall drive of this team is to provide the highest quality services to children and families across Haringey.
Your new role
As the new Head of Service, your purpose will include providing leadership and work across the system to deliver improved outcomes for the Children and Young People Services under the Borough Plan. You will lead and manage the Early Help and Prevention Service, implement service delivery and re-design an organisational change. Your role will mean you will enhance the Early Help provision, and evidence the impact of early help and its positioning within the continuum of need for children, young people and families.
Your main responsibilities will be inclusive of leading, commissioning, developing and managing effective locality and targeted early help and prevention services to deliver agreed outcomes for children and young people. You will ensure the commissioning and delivery are of appropriate high quality, evidence based activities, interventions and services. You will be accountable for budget, savings and workforce resource. As a Head Service, you will ensure that services are managed effectively within existing resources and make the most effective used of allocated budget, adhere to best value principles, control cost and enhance value and impact.
You will also ensure that work across the services are carried out within the appropriate legislative framework and in line with OFSETD’s ‘Good’ standards and beyond.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful within this Head of Service role, the clients would like you to have the following;
– Social Work Degree or experience of impactful leadership of Early Help/Early Intervention
– Extensive partnership experience of Multi-agency work and multi-disciplinary practice
– Effective leadership of teams experience
– Experience managing budgets, assets and people
– Comprehensive experience of OFSTED inspection and regulatory requirements for statutory children’s social care services
