About the role:
As Head of Care at Wings School Notts, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will ensure effective management of the residential community when on duty, which consists of six children’s homes located on site, each staffed by its own team consisting of a House Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Care Worker, Childcare Workers and Night Care Workers, such that the homes are organised, managed and staffed in a manner that delivers the best possible childcare. You will ensure that each young person has up to date placement plans which reflect their care needs including, education, social, emotional, behavioural, cultural, therapeutic, safeguarding and health needs and that these plans are reviewed regularly. This includes affective monitoring of the homes and offering advice and guidance. You will also be establishing and monitoring high quality standards of care in line with National Minimum Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations, you will develop quality assurance measures and ensure these standards are maintained and you will undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP), in accordance with the Wings Notts’ Child Protection Policy.
About you:
For this role, we are looking for someone who has relevant experience of successful working at a senior level with SEMH children, or within the SEN sector. You will have a positive outlook, be flexible, assertive, enthusiastic, reflective, reliable and diplomatic. You will hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent and hold or be willing to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
