General Manager – Adults Learning Disabilities – Gloucestershire – Social Care

This long established and progressive UK charity are known nationally for supporting adults with learning and other disabilities, to lead a life of opportunity. They encourage, enable and support over 500 people across a range of housing and support models and through their 10 urban and rural communities and services, all of which are rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ with CQC.
They have a mixture of services ranging from a bespoke residential service which provides accommodation and care to people with complex needs. They predominantly offer their services through a wide spectrum of supported living at home environments that provide the people they care for with individual tenant status giving them the independence they need to progress and grow.
Your new role
Both Hays and this organisation are excited to advertise a rare opportunity to become part of the management team as the General Manager, overseeing their Gloucestershire Communities. As the General manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the care and support to around 90 people with learning and other disabilities across the region. You will be supported by two Care and Support Managers, one holding the Registered Managers status.
This role will be an integral part of the General Managers’ team and will be required to engage in new and upcoming projects to drive up quality standards and contribute to the organisations bold strategy and vision, which will ensure that they focus on reaching out to more people, build new connections and remain sustainable within the current internal and external financial context
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this post, you will need to be an enthusiastic, forward-thinking leader / manager who has a vast amount of experience in the sector, with a track record of successfully delivering high quality services. You must be confident in leading teams of managers and have a sound knowledge of CQC and safeguarding legislation.
You must have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills as you will be expected to use these as well as your advanced interpersonal skills to effectively manage and instruct your managers and team members on the best practises of care and effective running of services.
What you’ll get in return
In return for your full commitment to this role, you will receive £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience as well as a generous benefits package, including a great holiday allowance and pension scheme. You will be joining a growing organisation and will have the support structure around you to be able to fulfil your role to the best of your abilities.
