Family Court Adviser (Social Worker) job in Work After Fist Hearing team (WAFH) for CAFCASS, from £29 ph. Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire areas.
Your new company
CAFCASS is looking for an experienced social worker to join the Work After First Hearing team (WAFH) in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire areas. By working in CAFCASS, you will make children and families feel like they can talk to you about their past and feelings to make sure you help them in the best possible way.
Your new role
As a Family Court Adviser in the Work After First Hearing Team for CAFCASS you will be keeping the child at the centre of your work at any time through high quality direct work with them and their families. Your main duties and responsibilities will mainly include ensuring that the arrangements made for the child after the first court hearing are in their best interests. You will work with vulnerable children and families with varied safeguarding concerns, and you will assess the impact that these safeguarding concerns might have on the child. As a FCA you will ensure that the safety and well-being of the child is met throughout CAFCASS’ involvement in the case, and you will work on behalf of the children and families to achieve the most positive outcomes.
What you’ll need to succeed To be successful, you will have a Social Work degree (or Social Work England equivalent), registered with Social Work England and have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience with highly vulnerable children and families. You will have relevant experience of public and private law and knowledge of models of risk assessments. You will have strong IT skills, and you will be resilient, organised and expert in safeguarding and child engagement.
