Your new company
CAFCASS is looking for an experienced social worker to join the Work After First Hearing team (WAFH) in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire areas. By working in CAFCASS, you will make children and families feel like they can talk to you about their past and feelings to make sure you help them in the best possible way.
Your new role
As a Family Court Adviser in the Work After First Hearing Team for CAFCASS you will be keeping the child at the centre of your work at any time through high quality direct work with them and their families. What you’ll need to succeed To be successful, you will have a Social Work degree (or Social Work England equivalent), registered with Social Work England and have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience with highly vulnerable children and families. You will have relevant experience of public and private law and knowledge of models of risk assessments. You will have strong IT skills, and you will be resilient, organised and expert in safeguarding and child engagement.

You will be offered a competitive hourly rate from £29 dependent on experience and location. By working with Hays, you will have your own consultant who will help you throughout the process. You will also have access to free DBS checks and learning and development opportunities.
By working as a Family Court Adviser for CAFCASS you will receive a laptop and a smartphone to be able to work from the office, court or home, as appropriate.
