Experienced Family Support Case Worker needed to support 0 – 19 Early Help Service in Small Heath.
Your new company are a UK wide charity who provide support for families and young people. This support is provided via their dedicated team who offer financial, practical and emotional support to those who need it most. To work with young people and families of 0 -19-year-olds to provide Early Help interventions to meet the needs of families on a one-to-one basis and group basis.
Your new role will include working with a case load of families experiencing multiple and complex problems and identifying support needs. You need to provide targeted intensive support to promote healthy and effective relationships, both at home and at school. Your responsibilities vary dependent on the family’s needs. But you must have the ability to plan and deliver an in-depth programme and care plan to support parents/carers and young person and offer person-centred solutions. You will be required to take part in Case Supervisions and Family Support Drop-In sessions to offer advice and guidance whilst signposting on various issues. You must identify barriers within the local community and provide services which will help overcome these barriers for all targeted and disadvantaged groups.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed you will need to have worked in a family support setting previously and dealt with a caseload around child protection and high-risk cases. You must have had experience working with children and families with complex needs which might include parenting, mental health, domestic abuse. You must have the ability to plan and deliver structured support plans and programs to improve parenting skills. A knowledge of children’s development and children’s needs is essential. Experience of recording and report-writing in a family support context is crucial. Preferably qualified with an NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care or Working with Parents or equivalent.
