Location: Quarry Centre
Duration: Permanent, Part Time – 18.5 hours per week
Job Purpose:
To deliver a statutory Social Work service by working as part of a team to undertake direct work with children and young people, pre birth to eighteen and their families. Direct work with children and families in need to enable them to maximise their potential.
The Family Time Hub is part of Aberdeen City Council’s Integrated Children and Family Services. The service is involved in assessing, supporting and supervising family time between children and their families. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and caring individual who has relevant experience of working with children and families. They must be willing to work in a trauma informed manner and be committed to helping us to continue to deliver the aims set out in The Promise.
HNC Childcare and Education or equivalent OR
HNC Social Care OR
BA Social Work or equivalent or a relevant diploma / degree qualification with experience of working with children and families
SSSC Registration if appropriate
Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme Record (PVG) or willing to become registered
Good practice; recognising the support needs of children , young people and
families
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with children
and families in need, their families and other stakeholders to achieve
improved outcomes
The ability to produce high quality written reports
Advocating on behalf of children and families in need by ensuring that their
views are taken into account and thattheirrights are promoted and protected
The ability to operate as a member of a team and take responsibilityforthe
health and safety needs of service users
The ability to attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision,
performance reviews and development and in developing team plans
The ability to work in partnership with stakeholders
A positive value base and awareness of Child Development theories
The ability to meet deadlines
The ability to mentor and support new staff/students
