An opportunity has arisen for a number of posts within the City of Edinburgh Council’s Family and Household Support Service. A service with a broad and varied remit, Family and Household Support takes an innovative and unique approach to responding to Anti-Social Behaviour and Community Safety as well as wider societal issues such as poverty and maximising household income, access to education and community support. You will be expected to work closely with individuals, families, groups, communities and partners to promote a restorative approach to neighbour disputes, social inclusion, and community involvement. You will work systemically with individuals, families and communities to understand and promote positive change and promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of Children, Families, Individuals and Communities. Offering a person-centred, outcome focused, intervention to all age groups including vulnerable adult clients as well as families who may have children of a pre-school age part of the household, you will draw on the principles of Getting It Right for Everyone in undertaking assessments, and develop SMART action plans to support people to achieve positive outcomes, maintain tenancies, tackle inequality and isolation. You will have wide range of skills, experience and knowledge, and have an approach to your work that both supports and challenges people to change behaviour and that empowers and enables others to reach their potential.
