You will be The Promise – Engagement Officer working alongside the Project Lead to ensure that Moray can #keepthepromise.
You will be expected to know and understand the values and the vision outlined within The Promise and support the need for service and cultural change to support people to be working differently to drive requirements of The Promise forward.
Working in a relational way with children and young people and their families to build trusting relationships and hear their stories and suggestions for change.
The individual will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong, positive and long-lasting relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups across the partnership. You will work with the project lead for The Promise to contribute to the aspirations Moray has to embrace a new way of working.
You will be a highly motivated, passionate, organised person and you will be a proactive communicator. You will have experienced partnership working and be able to get alongside children, young people and their families and really listen to understand their experiences.

To identify and build relationships with children, young people and their families
To create wide and varied opportunities for engagement and participation that include options for meeting individually or in groups, face to face or by using a range of social media, phones and IT
To promote participation opportunities which allows children, young people and their families to help us see where positive change and improvement in systems and services can be made
Support the Health and Social Care Partnership to co-produce services with children, young people and their families.
Working with The Promise – Lead Officer, to consider our engagement and participation systems and identify opportunities for improvement within them
To link with others who are active in rights, participation and advocacy for children and their families
To share the views of children, young people and their families with partners and influence how it changes systems across the Health and Social Care Partnership

SVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience
Ability to motivate and encourage young people
Plan/ manage projects and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and presentation skills – oral and written.
Able to give presentations of information to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of the ‘Promise’
Knowledge of Getting it right for Every Child
Broad understanding of all aspects of children’s services and integration within the Council, and across the partnership
Ability to keep own skills up to date and to maintain awareness of developments in children’s services
Ability to forward plan, anticipating various potential outcomes
Ability to gain trust of stakeholders and take a collaborative approach
Ability to remain impartial.
Ability to work accurately and to accept responsibility
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
Good communication skills with children, families and staff from a number of agencies.
Ability to present to groups of people demonstrating the ability to establish a rapport with a range of audiences
