The purpose of the job of support worker is to actively promote person centred support and learning for people who are not in employment, education or training. The project targets those who have not been in sustained employment, and have many barriers to employment. These people are in need of support to engage in Shetland’s Pathway to employment and be able to progress through the stages into long-term sustained employment. These people have at times chaotic lifestyles.
