Location: Units 3 – 4 Whitemyres Avenue, Aberdeen
Status: Full Time, Permanent
This position will be based primarily at the Joint Equipment Store, which provides community equipment for the people of Aberdeen city. You will assist in the maintenance and refurbishment of equipment. You will assist with general tasks in the Joint Equipment Store. You will provide a delivery and collection service of community equipment within Aberdeen.
Job Purpose: Throughout Aberdeen city you will participate in the provision of a high standard of person centred care and support for service users. You will provide a delivery and collection service for Occupational Therapy equipment and will promote good outcomes for service users and their carers. You will assist in the fitting and refurbishment of equipment as required. You will assist with general tasks in the Community Equipment Store.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Full drivers licence
PVG
The post holder will be expected to:
Travel as required in relation to the needs of the service
Work in accordance with Adult and Public Protection principles and procedures
Adhere to the requirements of company policy and procedures and health and safety policies and legislation
Undertake equipment specific training
Undertake lifting and handling training
Be responsible for the day to day maintenance of vans and equipment
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
The ability to communicate effectively with people
Good DIY skills
The ability to work autonomously and be accountable, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior manager
Ability to lift and handle equipment
Ability to manoeuvre large vehicles
Ability to take minutes
Ability to manage others diaries
