To act as a member of the team and provide care and support to individuals. To take a lead role in developing, implementing and reviewing service user care plans both within and out with the day services.
To support and develop a wide range of therapeutic and social activities within and out with the day service.
To support the development, maintenance and review of service user care plans in conjunction with the staff team, other agencies, service user, carers and services.
To promote a rehabilitative way of working with service users ensuring that independence is promoted.
To ensure good working practice with regard to health and safety, fire and food hygiene.
To provide formal support and supervision to the staff team across services.
Assist the service coordinator with the day to day running of the services and administrative duties.
Experience of working with a variety of people with specific support needs within vulnerable client group.
HNC + SVQ III in Health & Social Care (Adults) or equivalent.
Effective literacy and numeracy and computer skills.
Effective observational skills and written skills in order to accurately record information.
Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Skills in group work and/or individual work.
Effective organisational, time management and development skills.
Self-confident and self-motivated
Ability to manage difficult and challenging situations.
Knowledge of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards and evidence of understanding/application in relevant work setting.
Ability to devise, deliver and evaluate activity programmes.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the service.
Due to the rural nature of Moray this normally untaken by use of a car/van.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the practice of effective team working.
Ability to use own initiative/self-motivation.
Able to understand & communicate clearly using the English language.
Approachable, enthusiastic and appropriately assertive.
Ability to carry out duties that may involve a significant amount of moving and handling, using hoists and other lifting aids in accordance with moving and handling regulations.
Ability to support service users with activities.
