The care assistant role is to support clients to live an individual lifestyle while promoting choice, dignity, privacy and independence in accordance with person centred care plans. To assist clients with personal hygiene and maintaining appearance including bathing/showering, eating, drinking, oral care and continence. The successful candidate will carry out opportunities for the clients to engage with the local and wider community in ways that promote social inclusion of clients including working within their own home and within local community groups. You will also contribute to the planning of meaningful activities and to assist clients to participate in these.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
