CURRICULUM MANAGER – SHEFFIELD – PERMANENT – ASAP START OR SEPTEMBER

Your new role

• Deputise for the Director of Curriculum as necessary
• Hold high aspirations for your Pathway, your team, your learners past and present
• Embolden the school offer by working with the Principal and Director of Curriculum to ensure learners receive the best possible, practical and ambitious learning experience of their lives. This experience must be focused on improving independent living skills, improving functional communication, mobility in the home and outside in learner communities so that learners can lead productive adult lives
• Develop the Independence Pathway so that learner achievements remain high, in terms of academic pass rates and transition into meaningful destinations
• Lead Personal and Social Development and Independence curriculum
• Lead the curriculums work around health and wellbeing, behaviour and attitudes and personal development
• Assess learners for Pathway
• Contribute to the annual self-assessment process
• Monitor and report learner progress and achievement regularly
• Monitor and report on the progress and achievement of Looked After Children, those at Risk and learners with Social Workers
• Plan and deliver a session of 2.5 hours per week (or cover as required)

• Working with Learner Services, ensure all learners on your Pathway are prepared for their Person Centred Review
• Liaise with parents as necessary
• Working with the Directors, implement formal validation processes for internal achievements and external awards for your Pathway

• Chair meetings and committees as required
• Line manage staff as directed

What you’ll need to succeed

• Level 2 English and Maths
• BA Degree in relevant discipline or successful experience
• QTLS, QTS or similar
• Experience working with young people and/or adults with Special Educational Needs
• Experience managing staff
• Knowledge of Ofsted EIF
• Good organisational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Understanding of EHCP processes
• Access to own car
