This is an exciting time to join the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership as we embark on a new journey developing community therapy services and continue to improve our home first approach. You will make a vital contribution to how we ensure people are discharged from hospital without delay or avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
You will be responsible for leading a range of community occupational therapy teams delivering services as part of home first and urgent and unscheduled care. You will have a sharp focus on the provision of expert clinical care which encompasses occupational therapy assessment and interventions with a particular focus on Home First Pathways and services including.
• Discharge to Assess (D2A)
• Prevention of admission and urgent response
• Medical Day hospitals and community frailty teams
You will work as part of the North East Locality extended leadership team alongside the Physio@Home and Associated Services Lead, as well as Hub managers and colleagues in Edinburgh’s Acute Hospital sites. We offer a supportive work environment to help you grow and develop as an Occupational Therapy Leader.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
