Community Payback Work Supervisor
Grindlay Street Social Work Centre
Salary: £26,393 – £31,484 plus working time payment per annum (payment may differ depending on shifts)
Hours: 36 per week
We are recruiting 3 Community Payback Work Supervisors to manage offenders in the performance of unpaid work and other activity required by the conditions of court orders. You will source and organise projects, placements and other activity that benefit both individuals and organisations in the community and that encourage offenders to realise the value of what they are doing and develop their skills and reduce likelihood of reoffending.
Post holders will supervise, assess, plan, co-ordinate and manage offenders, one to one, in groups, on placements and on other activity provisions. Managing a case load of offenders is also required and you will be responsible for the production and maintenance of risk assessment of clients for unpaid work and the recording and maintenance of written and electronic records. Adherence to National Outcomes and Standards and statutory and council requirements, policies and procedures is needed.
The role also requires you to source, organise, plan, risk assess and manage projects, placements and other activity provisions that are diverse and have a range of tasks to suit the varied needs of the client group and be of benefit to the community and offender. You will be responsible for health and safety of projects, placements and other activity.
The successful candidates may be required to work from one of three work bases within the city. These post will involve weekend working.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
